Dr Mingfei Wu received his BEng (1st Class Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Northumbria University in 2009, MSc in Control Systems from Imperial College London in 2010, and PhD in Power Electronics from the University of Sydney in 2015. From 2015 to 2016, he was a research assistant/associate in the University of Sydney. From May 2016, he works as a KTP associate (research associate) in the Heriot-Watt University. The KTP is a project in collaboration with Newarc Ltd in Newcastle, and his work is very close to the research and development of industrial products in Newarc Ltd. His current research interest includes soft switching of power electronic converter, optimisation of medium power (about 20kW) full bridge DC/DC converter design with IGBT modules, and embedded intelligent technology application in arc welding machines.
