Professor David Flynn appointed as Vice-Chair of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) in Scotland

Prof. Flynn takes over from former vice chair and now Chair of IET Scotland, Mr Gordon Burrows. Prof. Flynn stated that “During these challenging times it’s vital that we raise awareness about the opportunities, inclusiveness and creativity of engineering. The IET have a long standing, and ongoing commitment, to supporting communities. Personally, it’s a privilege to work with this team of dedicated and talented volunteers. Whether it’s supporting STEM education, raising awareness of opportunities in skills and talent development, networking for businesses or highlighting entrepreneurship within engineering and technology, there is a clear role for the IET to play in supporting our national ambitions in distributed wealth creation, improving diversity within the profession and supporting our work force with access to life long learning.
